The Secretary of State to the Consul General at London (Skinner)
Your November 26, 6 p.m. Department believes deposits to effect release of goods detained under Order in Council of March 11, 1915, should be released in proper cases without further delay as economic [Page 632] reasons for detention of goods ceased long ago. Ambassador has taken up matter of release of these deposits with Foreign Office, but as yet no reply has been received. Department desires to obtain list of these cases and amount deposited in each case and total amount involved. Telegraph report.34
