Select Committee on Purchase of Danish Islands to the Secretary of State
Washington, March 31, 1902.
Dear Sir: I have the honor to submit herewith an alleged report to the Danish Government from Captain W. Christmas Dirckinck Holmfeld, relative to the purchase of the Danish West India Islands.11 You will observe that in this so-called report certain statements are made as to relations existing between yourself and the author of the report. I have no doubt that at some time in the near future the committee appointed by the House to investigate the matter of this report will be glad to have you appear before them to make such statement as to you may seem fitting.
Very respectfully yours,
Chairman
