887. United States Steel Products Company, 30 Church Street, New York, urging through London manager that Embassy make representations to British Government with a view to having raised embargo on shipments of manganese ore from India to United States. Manager states company dependent upon this source of [Page 419] supply and if embargo not raised will sustain great loss. Further that two steamers loaded with company’s ore are held in Bombay whose speedy release is desired. Please instruct.
