Referring to yesterday’s cable,1 Liberian Government is probably about to default on interest on 1871 loan due April 1. If this should occur it will change the situation as regards negotiations with bondholders. Have cabled Monrovia for explanation; until this is received you will await in London further instructions from Department. In Department’s opinion this situation means merely slight delay and need not interfere with the plans of General Receiver Clark.
