Sir: I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt of your note of the 25th ultimo in which you request the designation of a time when the President will receive you as Envoy Extraordinary and Minister Plenipotentiary on Special Mission for the purpose of conveying to the President the expression of the gratitude of the Government of Salvador for the visit of the Secretary of State to that country, and to inform you that the President has been pleased to designate Friday, the 10th instant, at 2.35 o’clock p.m., as the day and hour when he will receive you for this purpose.
Mr. Chandler Hale, the Third Assistant Secretary of State, will meet you at the White House and present you to the President in your special capacity.
