The Secretary of State to the Mexican Ambassador.

In further reply to the memorandum of the Embassy of Mexico of the 9th ultimo in regard to a report of the consul of Mexico at El Paso, Tex., that on May 8, 1911, several shots were fired from the American side of the Rio Grande at the Mexican side, the Department of State has the honor to inclose for the embassy’s information copies of two letters from the Acting Secretary of War, transmitting reports from the commanding officer, district of El Paso, in reference to the matter.
