Sir: I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt of the embassy’s note of the 26th ultimo, stating that the governor of Sonora has reported that armed bands have invaded that State from its northern boundary, and communicating to the Department a request of your Government that steps be taken to prevent the movement of such armed groups toward Mexican territory.

Copies of your note have been sent to the War Department and the Department of Justice.
