Dear Mr. Hay: I have informed Lord Lansdowne by telegraph of the offer which the President has made to send home the remains of Lord Pauncefote in a vessel of the American Navy as a testimony of respect, and I have asked him whether I may accept his offer on benalf of Lady Pauncefote.
