[Joint Resolution No. 1.]
The Legislature of the Republic of Hawaii, in regular session
assembled, does hereby extend to the United States of America its
deep and earnest sympathy in the great loss of life sustained by the
destruction of the battle ship Maine in the
harbor of Habana, Cuba, February 15, 1898.

Resolved, That a copy of these resolutions be
presented to the American minister for transmission to the President
of the United States of America.
