233. Editorial Note
At 11:30 a.m. Prime Minister Eden met with President Eisenhower at the latter’s villa. One hour later the President met with Nelson Rockefeller. At 1 p.m. the President and Mrs. Eisenhower held a luncheon at their villa for President and Madame Petitpierre. Also attending were Secretary General and Madame Zehnder, the Chief of Protocol and Madame Dominice, Ambassador Willis, Major John Eisenhower, Consul General and Mrs. Gowen, Ambassador Thompson, and Colonel Walters. No records of any of these events [Page 472] have been found in Department of State files or at the Eisenhower Library, but all appear as entries in the President’s appointments for July 22.
