Editorial Note
A fourth meeting in 1954 of the ANZUS Council Deputies was held in Washington on August 10. The participants of the three powers were led by Under Secretary Smith and Ambassadors Spender and Munro. Sir Robert Scott and Joy attended the meeting as “informal observers” for the United Kingdom. The discussion centered on procedural matters relating to the proposed Southeast Asia Collective Defense Treaty.
