Editorial Note

Near Eastern and South Asian matters were extensively discussed, both in preparatory meetings and during the formal meetings of the Foreign Ministers of the United States, United Kingdom, and France at London, in May 1950. The United States Delegation to the preparatory meetings was headed by Ambassador at Large Philip C. Jessup; the United States Delegation to the Foreign Ministers meetings was headed by Secretary of State Acheson. For a comprehensive record of both the preparatory meetings and the formal meetings of the Foreign Ministers regarding the Near East and South Asia, see volume pages 828 ff.
