Editorial Note

The Foreign Ministers of the United States, the United Kingdom, and France met in London from May 11 to May 13, 1950, for far-ranging discussions of problems of mutual concern. These conversations [Page 312] were preceded by preliminary discussions commencing on May 1, In addition to the tripartite sessions, United States officials participated in bilateral meetings with representatives of Britain and France. Certain of the London discussions were concerned with the world situation in general, the threat presented by the Soviet Union, and other matters of immediate relevance to the national security of the United States.
