  1. This telegram was repeated to Baghdad. The Department, on March 11, requested Chargé Dorsz to inform the Iraqi Foreign Minister about the U.S. approach to the Israelis as a result of his request. At the same time, it instructed him to state to the Foreign Minister the “belief USG that in interest preservation peace Iraqi mil auths Pal should make every effort prevent such raids into Israeli areas.” (Telegram 84 to Baghdad, 867N.01/3–1149)
