Editorial Note

The Committee on Armed Services of the House of Representatives conducted hearings between October 6 and October 21, 1949, which devoted detailed consideration to the status of atomic weapons in the defense posture of the United States. Thirty-six individuals who served or who had served in important military or civilian governmental positions presented testimony.
