His Majesty’s Government in the United Kingdom understand that Mr. Edwin W. Pauley is visiting Japan and other parts of the Far East in his capacity of personal adviser to the President on reparations questions and that Mr. Pauley’s findings and recommendations will be embodied in a report to the President.
[Page 1010]His Majesty’s Government in the United Kingdom venture to suggest the desirability of refraining from giving publicity to Mr. Pauley’s report, particularly to any recommendations that he may make in regard to policy, until His Majesty’s Government have had an opportunity of offering their observations on this subject to the United States Government.
