30. We understand that Wavell is expected back in Delhi on May 1st and would presumably leave London not later than the 27th. Consequently, [Page 251] if you desire to speak to Eden along the lines of Phillips’ suggestion, it would have to be done now, otherwise the opportunity will be lost.
