Sharp protest was made by Brit Ambassador¹ in letter to Molotov dated July 6 (to Dept 2472 rptd Athens 31, London 348) regarding recent criticism in Soviet Press and radio of Greek Govt, Brit policy in Greece and conduct of Scobie and Brit troops in that country. Statement in Shalitov article in New Times June 15 on Greece described by Clark Kerr as misleading and hostile.
