The Ambassador in Colombia ( Lane ) to the Secretary of State

1152. Stations HJBB Cúcuta and HJED Cali have been monitored by trustworthy local testing facilities and have been found to be [Page 855] operating on their respective assigned frequencies. Colombian Ministry of Posts and Telegraphs has made similar test and makes the same official report to Embassy. Local testing facilities suggest interference with station AT&T may be caused by All America station HKY now transmitting on 4834 kilocycles; also that the two British stations mentioned in Department’s telegram number 539 of June 20, 6 p.m. may be fading off their frequencies and thus experiencing interference.
