ReDepts 8183, October 6, 8 p.m. Legation at Jidda has reported that British authorities in London object to establishment of Saudi Arabian Government radio station on security grounds and state that American censors have concurred with the British in this regard. Jidda has not reported, however, who or where these American censors are or the circumstances under which the alleged concurrence was given. Please report fully to the Department on this matter [Page 764] at the earliest possible moment, bearing in mind the December 1 deadline for giving notice.
