Please inform King Ibn Saud immediately that, with reference to his message transmitted in Cairo’s 1667, June 17, 11 a.m., Landis is being recalled to Washington to discuss the matters to which the King refers and that it is hoped it will be possible promptly to take care of Saudi Arabia’s immediate supply and transport requirements and to work out a satisfactory long-range Saudi Arabian requirements program.
