The Secretary of State to the Ambassador in Greece (MacVeagh)
124. Reurtel 150, December 15. Suggested solution appears to be most promising proposal yet advanced and closely parallels Department’s ideas already communicated to the British. Department is appreciatively aware of the difficulty of your position during this critical period when communications have been interrupted and when confused propaganda in Greece has misinterpreted certain United States statements and fundamental policy. Your correct reaffirmation of Department’s views has been most helpful.
