President Roosevelt to the British Prime Minister (Churchill)13
[Washington,] 26 August
1944.
608. Personal for the Former Naval Person. Your 75514 and 770.15 I have no objection to your making preparations to have in [Page 134] readiness a sufficient British Force to preserve order in Greece when the German Forces evacuate that country. There is also no objection to the use by General Wilson of American transport airplanes that are available to him at that time and that can be spared from his other operations.
