The American Representative to the French Provisional Government (Caffery) to the Secretary of State

594. In a note signed by Bidault dated November 17, 194427 which I have just received, the Provisional Government formally accepts the invitation conveyed to it on November 11 to become a permanent member of the European Advisory Commission.28 The note states in part that the Provisional Government appreciates the full value of the invitation and requests me to transmit its acceptance to the Government of the United States, copy of note being transmitted by despatch.29
