828. Concerning assistance to Danish refugees now in Sweden referred to in your 303 January 12,27 Department concurs with views as expressed by British Foreign Office. In collaboration with the British please refer matter to IGC requesting it to coordinate all activities in consultation with our Governments, the Swedish Government and the Danish Ministers in Washington and London.
- Not printed; it contained the text of a letter of January 10 from the British Foreign Office with respect to refugees from Denmark in Sweden, requesting that an inquiry be made of the State Department whether they would agree that the organization of aid to these refugees should be entrusted to the Intergovernmental Committee who would be enabled to coordinate all activities in consultation with the United States and British Governments and with the Swedish Government and the recognized Danish authorities (840.48 Refugees/4988).↩
