150. Department’s No. 111, May 2, 11 a.m. [p.m.] I am informed by the Under Secretary of Finance that Saleh has been instructed to inform Department that the Iranian Government is prepared in principle to consider reductions in duties or supplementary charges and bindings of duties on products of interest to the United States. The agreement would however be subject to ratification by Medjliss. Saleh has been instructed to submit a list of articles on which United States requests reductions or bindings.
