295. In connection with the drafting of an Agreement for a United States Military Mission to Iran consisting of Colonel Schwarzkopf, Lieutenant Colonel Boone and Captain Preston, the following information is urgently desired:
- a.
- What in your opinion should be the stated purpose of the Mission?
- b.
- To what official of the Iranian Government will the Mission be responsible?
- c.
- Approximate duration of the Mission?
Please discuss the above points with Colonel Schwarzkopf replying by telegram and furnishing any other information which in your opinion would be helpful to the Department in drafting this Agreement.
