Netherlands Series 31. Your Netherlands Series 32, October 15, 7 p.m.8 and 33, October 20, 1 p.m.9 Following is body of letter of today’s date received from Foreign Minister Van Kleffens:10
“It has been arranged between the Minister for the Colonies and myself that a telegram be sent today to the Governor General of the Netherlands Indies in order to authorize J. H. R. Van Starkenborg to cause contact to be made forthwith with the Commander in Chief in Manila in case the Governor General sees no objection on his part to acceding to the desires of your Government in the matter of making air bases in the Netherlands Indies available for the purpose of ferrying heavy American bombers from Hawaii to the Philippine Islands.”
