The Ambassador in the Soviet Union (Steinhardt) to the Secretary of State

561. The Moscow press this morning publishes a Tass announcement that A. E. Bogomolov,18 the present Soviet Chargé d’Affaires in Vichy, has been appointed Soviet Ambassador to France. The post has been vacant since the recall last year of Surits19 at the request of the French Government.
