In connection with the purchase of aircraft in this country by the British and Allied Governments, it is interesting to note that during the period June 30 to August 17, inclusive, 1,350 aircraft were ordered and 403 were delivered. Under present contracts it is provided that 89 aircraft will be delivered in the last two weeks of August, 229 in September, 291 in October, 351 in November, 440 in December and increasing numbers in subsequent months mounting to a peak of 846 in August 1941.
