My telegram No. 433, September 30, 10 a.m. Official Gazette of December 7 publishes a decree dated October 12 suppressing as of November 1 the bounty called quota price adjustment heretofore paid on the exportation of silk textiles, velvets, ribbons, tulles, crepes, knitted goods, and hosiery referred to in subparagraphs E and F of Article V of Decree No. 1267 of May 29, 1937. Director General of Commerce Masi yesterday commented to the Commercial Attaché that in view of this action the United States ought now to discontinue application of countervailing duties on these silk products.37
