The Ambassador in Turkey (MacMurray) to the Secretary of State

13. Your telegram No. 21, April 7, noon.38a

1.

The event has however brought much closer home to the Turkish public the danger of the present situation.
2.
In view of the conversations held here over the weekend between the Turkish and Rumanian Ministers for Foreign Affairs the results of which are still conjectural, I do not feel in a position to submit more specific comment than was contained in my telegram No. 20, March 27, 7 p.m.,39 until I shall have been able to consult the Minister for Foreign Affairs as I hope to have the opportunity of doing tomorrow.
MacMurray
