152. Department’s instruction No. 419, July 21. Recent extension of list of American articles to be granted official exchange implies a net increase in the total amount of official exchange to be allocated for imports from the United States. Amount of official exchange thus allocated is subject to revision according to movement of Argentine exports to the United States and consequent creation of dollar exchange. [Page 213] Present indications are that in the near future Argentine exports to the United States will be largely augmented because of shipments of corn.
