63. Approval of the Egyptian Parliament of the Anglo-Egyptian treaty36 was completed last night. The High Commissioner37 informed me yesterday both he and the Egyptian Government desired to convene the Capitulations Conference as soon as possible after ratification by the British Government and suggested January 15th as a possible date. The place is also still undetermined.
On the basis of other information I am doubtful if as early a date as January may be possible.
