Honduran Minister for Foreign Affairs received telegram May 12 from Colombian Minister for Foreign Affairs referring to the Italian notification of the annexation of Ethiopia and inviting a uniform reply of nonrecognition in accordance with the declaration of American states of August 3, 1932 and the second article of the Saavedra Lamas pact.
[Page 232]Honduran Minister for Foreign Affairs would appreciate information regarding the attitude of the United States regarding such policy before answering the Colombian telegram. Please instruct me as to any statement that the Department desires to make.
