Subject: Transportation of Chinese Troops on American Vessels on the Upper Yangtze

Sir: I have the honor to refer to the Legation’s despatch No. 3373 of February 19, 1935,86 in regard to the above-mentioned subject, and to enclose for the information of the Department a copy of despatch No. 53, dated February 25, 1935, from the Consul General at Hankow.86

Mr. Josselyn reports in this despatch that no Chinese troops have been transported to Szechwan Province by American vessels, but that one American vessel carried a certain amount of ammunition to that region.
