Your 708 October 14, 9 p.m. In reporting on the meeting of the Diplomatic Corps in Addis Ababa, Engert reported that “it was decided to request our respective Governments to bring to the attention of the Italian Government the fact that cities of Addis Ababa and Diredawa are open and undefended.”

In your telegram under reference you state that your representation referred to an abstention from “bombardment” of these open cities.

Please report whether the representations of all the other diplomatic representatives also specifically included the word “bombardment”.
