Your October 12, 2 p.m. I called upon Suvich this evening and made oral representations on humanitarian grounds that they would abstain from bombardment of the open cities of Addis Ababa and Diredawa and stated that my action was similar to that of my colleagues representing Governments who had participated in the conference of the Diplomatic Corps at Addis Ababa.
As I left the Turkish Ambassador entered to make similar representations.
