The Italian Embassy to the Department of State
Upon the occasion of the presentation and subsequent hearings before the House Immigration and Naturalization Committee during the past month of the Schulte Bill (H. R. 5380) and of the hearings which are now taking place before the Senate Immigration Committee on the King Bill (S. 379), the Italian Embassy would again respectfully point out the remarks made in previous memorandums addressed to the United States Department of State, particularly in the one of March 6th 1934.9
It is believed that these Bills, dealing on the deportation of alien seamen, if enacted into law, would not allow a desirable cooperation in matters of shipping between the United States and Italy, as pointed out in the memorandum above mentioned.
