18. The Foreign Minister verbally requested me this afternoon to inform you that his Government sincerely desires and intends to expel Insull but that owing to the unusually inclement weather now prevailing and the fugitive’s physical condition it believes it is only humane to allow him to remain from 10 days to 2 weeks longer and begs you to have patience. I asked Mr. Maximos29 if this meant that expulsion would then definitely take place and he replied in the affirmative.
