The Acting Secretary of State to the British Ambassador (Lindsay)

Excellency: I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt of your Excellency’s note of December 23, 1933, informing me of the communication made by your Government to the German Government in regard to treatment of German foreign loans.

This Government has instructed its representative at Berlin to make formal representations to the German Government in the same sense, and has instructed that representative in general to support the position outlined in your note.

This Government will be glad to be kept informed of any further developments which come to the attention of the British Government and to continue the effort of common representation and activity in this matter.
