Department’s 50, February 2, 2 [1] p.m. In informal conversation yesterday with Foreign Office I took occasion to refer to representations made by me as reported on top of page 3 of Embassy’s despatch 2482, December 29,⁵ and to point out that according to reports reaching me Anglo-Persian Oil Company geologists had recently arrived in Koweit having brought drilling machinery, et cetera, to carry on exploration work.
