Your telegram No. 113, March 6, 1 p.m. Although reports have been received from various sources that funds are being raised for the purchase of medical supplies for Sandino the Department has not been informed of any attempt to purchase arms or ammunition with such funds. The Department believes that the amounts thus far raised are relatively small. The activities in connection with these alleged funds are being investigated when warranted. The Department will endeavor to prevent the shipment of arms and ammunition destined to the forces of Sandino.
