Sir: At the request of the Canadian Government I have the honour to call your attention to the fact that the signature of the Treaty between the United States and Great Britain concerning port privileges of fishing vessels, lobster fishing, halibut fishing, and Tariff on fresh fish, the draft4 of which was prepared by negotiation between Sir Douglas Hazen and the Department of State, is still outstanding. The Government of the Dominion will be glad to learn at what date the United States Government will be prepared to proceed to the signature of this Treaty.
