The Secretary of State to the Ambassador in Great Britain (Davis)
765. Your telegram No. 1062 of July 14, 3 p.m. The President defers to your desire not to serve on the League of Nations Commission which is to report to the Council on the Aland Islands question. He would like to have Mr. Henry White serve on the Commission as one of its members. You are instructed, therefore, to convey to the Council an intimation of the President’s choice.
Mr. White is believed to be at present in Europe. It is suggested that you get in touch with him on this matter. It is thought that he is either in England or at Scheveningen, the Netherlands.
