The Ambassador in Great Britain ( Page) to the Secretary of State

[Telegram]

6761. My 6759, July 18, 1 a.m. [p.m.]1 Williams, commercial attaché, is working admirably with the Ministry of Blockade on all questions that fall to that department and the work constantly increases. Williams therefore has his hands full. The British Government is especially anxious to have a man sent or designated by our Government as a member of the Allied Chartering Committee. He ought to be a practical shipping man. The need of such a man is great at present. Williams is attending that committee’s meetings till such a man can be sent. We ought to have a man here who can give his whole time to this important task.
