4244. Department’s telegram 3036, March 14.1 Foreign Office informs me that French Government does not see its way to permit the landing of supplies for Jewish hospitals at Jerusalem owing to their objection to any modification of blockade of Syrian coast. British Government shares the view expressed by French Government and to its great regret is accordingly unable to agree to this humanitarian proposal.
