In view of probable landing troops here tomorrow which may not be understood in other parts of Republic as being for protection of American Legation, Consulate, American citizens, and in view of the fact that there are in other parts of the country Americans who would be in danger, I request additional ships be sent here with force sufficient to protect American life and property. Puerto Plata, Macorîs, Sanchez should be provided for.
