The Secretary of State to the Spanish Ambassador

Excellency: With reference to previous correspondence in regard to the transfer of the remains of the Spanish sailors buried at Seavey Island to the Spanish transport, I have the honor to inform you that appropriate ceremonies will take place at Portsmouth Navy Yard on Wednesday, April 12, and that Rear Admiral Austin M. Knight will represent the Government of the United [Page 960] States. In addition Mr. Thomas Hinckley, Second Secretary of the American Embassy at Madrid will be present and will represent the Department of State.
