Chihuahua (via Eagle Pass, Tex.), March 3, 1912—3 p.m.

All the reports from border are alarming. Excitement high here on account intervention rumors resulting from meager news arriving by telegraph from Paso del Norte of President’s proclamation advising Americans to keep out of danger zone. This is construed as warning to leave country, and private messages give color to this construction. Governor has disappeared. Villa is attacking Orozco, a few miles from town, this morning.
